Of course, a robot won’t be a robot without a program/code and that is what would give your robot the forth robot characteristic Intelligence. The word “algorithm” may not seem relevant to you, but the truth is that algorithms are all around us. An algorithm is a detailed step-by-step instruction set or formula for solving a problem or completing a task. Programming is a process that leads from an original formulation of a computing problem to executable computer programs using Algorithms. A program could be written in one or more programming language/s, which are the languages used to communicate with the targeted device whether it is a robot or a computer. The MINDSTORMS EV3-G Software has an intuitive, graphics-based format that users from 10 years of age can quickly learn and successfully use. The EV3-G Language is based on graphical commands or in other words "Blocks", each Block does a particular command and includes many variables that you could adjust. The sequence of the program runs from left to right, starting from the orange labelled block "Start Block", and when each block is completed, the next one is started. In this Activity all the EV3-G Action, Flow and Sensor Blocks will be explained in details.
